Description:
At time of neurobiology which place remains to the psychopathological mechanisms linked to the pervasive developmental disorders? First the term ''psychopathology'' must be specified. Then we will review the main psychopathological theories known in the Pervasive Developmental Disorders. Among these: psychodynamic theory of the early bond, neurophysiologic theory of perception, cognitive patterns of communication, genetic models. A special position is given to the ''Psychopathology of the Development'' which takes account of the dynamic and evolutionary aspects in various areas as somatic, intellectual, emotional and social development. Psychopathology of every day life is also very important for autistic people and their family. We finish with interrogations on the objectivity of the psychopathological analyses, the degree of interpretation and the use of symbolism by professionals working in autism.
