Special Needs App of the Day: Pirate Puzzles

Special Needs App of the Day: Pirate Puzzles

Ahoy, mateys!  There’s an app for all ye pirate lovers out there.  Pirate Puzzles features a series of puzzles increasing in difficulty that also includes an animated surprise once the puzzle is complete.

Best suited for “buccaneers age 3 to 7 years old,” the app works on fine motor skills through a creative and encouraging game.

Many app developers realize that to get kids interested in learning is to motivate them; and one of the best way to motivate kids to learn is to bring them a tool that meets them on their level or presents them with something they are interested in.

With the popularity of the Pirates of the Caribbean series comes an increased interest in the characters, and Ayars Animation brings them to life while also presenting children with a chance to work on goals, such as improving fine motor skills.

Each puzzle set in Pirate Puzzles includes nine puzzles, and you get 18 puzzles in all with the two sets.  When you complete a set, you are rewarded with an interactive mystery pirate song.

Pirate Puzzles is free and available for iPhone, iPod Touch, and iPad.
