Turn Taker teaches sharing using visual and audio cues to children with Down syndrome, autism, ADHD, and other special needs. Sharing is a key skill for growing and maintaining social relationships, which in turn promote an improved use of language. Turn Taker makes it possible for a parent or caregiver to introduce the concept of sharing by setting the time of each person’s turn during an activity. Initially, the learning child’s turn should be set much longer than the other person’s. This alleviates some of the anxiety they might feel when it is not their turn. As they become more comfortable with sharing, the other person’s turn can gradually be made longer until the two times are equal.
