AbilityFirstCamp Paivika, in the San Bernardino Mountains, offers safe, year-round campprograms for children, teens, and adults with physical and developmentaldisabilities. As one of the first fully-accessible camps in the United States, CampPaivika has been welcoming campers since 1947.
Ourcamping program encourages independence and broadens social contacts throughrecreation. As is typical with camps, the emphasis is on fun. Specially-trainedstaff members provide support for campers whose disabilities range from mild tosevere. Camp Paivika is open full time during summer sessions and for weekendcamping during winter sessions. Camp Paivika is fully accredited by theAmerican Camping Association.
Thechildren, teen, and adult programs include all of the traditional activities ofcamping: horseback riding, archery, swimming, cookouts, campfires, arts andcrafts, and nature hikes and activities, as well as fine arts. All programs aredesigned to ensure that each camper can participate to the best of his or herability.
