Build a Train is an app kids love because it not only allows them to choose which engines and cars to put on the train, it also challenges them with different tracks and maps.

There are a variety of colors and designs of cars for your child to choose to put on the train. The cars can also be dragged to change the order they are in. Then the train can be test driven around the city.

In Build a Train's game mode, the child gets to see his or her train on a track. They can control the speed of the train and where the train goes. By hitting the traffic lights along the tracks, the train's direction can be changed. The goal of the game is to drive the train to pick up a load of boxes at the station. Children will also enjoy ringing the train's bell or blowing the horn.

As children gather points by picking up boxes, they will begin to unlock new levels of maps with different scenes, such as the desert, night time and snowy terrain.

This app completely engrosses kids and is excellent for building problem solving skills and teaching cause and effect.

Build a Train is available on iPhone, iPad, and iPod Touch for $1.99.
