Ready for hours of iPad fun? Now you have it with Faces iMake.

Right-brain thinking, originality, having fun, exploring, playing, opening your mind, learning, creating, discovering, trying new things, and engaging in an open-ended activity are all goals and benefits of Faces iMake.

Some users have said it's the "Mr. Potato Head for the iPad." Just like the old favorite, Faces iMake promotes creative expression and choice making. The premise is very simple β€” choose a base and add objects to create a face.

Choose from categories, including candy, music, toys, and food, or create objects from your own pictures. The app makes a sound each time you add or delete an object, which provides that immediate auditory feedback. You can rotate and resize the images to your preference. Faces iMake also includes music, and you can choose music from your own library to listen to while you create.

Faces iMake also includes lessons to learn how to use the app, and you can save your faces and share them on Facebook or through e-mail.

The options for creation really are endless, and while focusing on creativity, the app also encourages a new way of seeing.

Creative expression is important for all children, and it certainly comes easier to some children more than others. It is imperative to find motivating and entertaining ways to promote this essential developmental milestone.

In addition to creative expression, Faces iMake can also be used to facilitate study of emotions. For children with autism, understanding and expressing emotions is often a difficult task. Practice learning what emotions look like through facial expressions through the Faces iMake app.

Faces iMake was developed by artist, children's book author, and educator Hanoch Piven, who says, "I wanted Faces iMake to be a virtual workshop that reflects what happens in the real world when we compose pictures using objects. All significantly creative ideas are born from playing, therefore Faces iMake is a game as much as it is a creative workshop."

Faces iMake is also featured as a TWA Pick on www.TeachersWithApps.com

Faces iMake is available for $2.99.
