Sharifa Suniga

Sharifa Suniga is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker specializing in trauma-informed care for children, teens, adults, and families. With a Master of Social Work from the University of Denver focused on trauma and PTSD, she provides a compassionate, strengths-based approach to help clients navigate complex emotional challenges. Her expertise includes supporting families dealing with Oppositional Defiance (ODD), emotional regulation, school issues, and parenting struggles.

Utilizing evidence-based modalities such as Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Solution-Focused Brief Therapy, Sharifa helps clients develop essential coping skills. She is highly skilled in addressing specific needs such as anxiety, depression, OCD, and the impacts of domestic violence or life transitions. Her practice is designed to help individuals and families strengthen emotional regulation and better understand their lived experiences.

Sharifa offers culturally responsive care and is fluent in both English and Spanish, drawing on her extensive background as a medical and legal interpreter to serve diverse populations with sensitivity. Services are available through both in-person and telehealth appointments.
