William Padding

William Padding is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LMSW, ACSW) with over 30 years of experience providing individual, family, and marital counseling in the Grand Rapids area. He specializes in treating children, adolescents, and adults who have experienced trauma from sexual victimization, domestic violence, and other complex emotional disturbances. His extensive background includes working within the Kent County Family Court system and developing child protection policies for local churches.

Mr. Padding is a Level 2 certified specialist in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) for PTSD, phobias, and anxiety disorders. He also offers expertise in grief recovery, co-parenting plans for divorced families, and managing conditions such as ADHD, bipolar disorder, OCD, and dissociative disorders. His approach focuses on building coping skills, self-esteem, and effective communication for families navigating conflict or crisis.

He provides both in-person and online/telehealth sessions, currently accepting new clients on a waitlist basis. Individual sessions are available for $160, with payment options including ACH, cash, check, and major credit cards. Mr. Padding accepts a wide range of insurance plans, including UnitedHealthcare, Blue Cross/Blue Shield, Aetna, and Medicare, making specialized trauma care accessible to families with various coverage needs.
