Caitlin Shields

Caitlin Shields, MFT, provides compassionate, client-centered therapy specifically tailored to the unique developmental and emotional needs of children, adolescents, and their families. She specializes in supporting neurodivergent youth and those navigating complex diagnoses, including Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), intellectual disabilities, and developmental disorders. Her practice is dedicated to creating a safe, supportive environment where every individual feels heard and empowered.

Utilizing evidence-based modalities, Caitlin integrates Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) with creative, developmentally appropriate interventions such as play and sand tray therapy. This multi-sensory approach is ideal for helping children and teens process trauma, manage PTSD, and develop essential emotional regulation and coping skills. She also addresses challenges related to anxiety, depression, attachment, and behavioral difficulties.

In addition to working with individuals, Caitlin offers support for couples and families dealing with conflict, parenting challenges, and caregiving stress. Services are available through both in-person and telehealth appointments in Long Beach, CA. She is currently accepting new clients and accepts various insurance plans, including Medi-Cal, Medicaid, and Blue Cross Blue Shield. Individual sessions are available at a rate of $150.
