A+ World Academy

A+ World Academy offers a distinctive 11th-12th grade and gap year program aboard a fully rigged tall ship, serving 60 students with small class sizes (average 12 students) and individualized attention. The program provides ADD/ADHD support alongside rigorous academics, including AP courses in Spanish, Biology, Calculus, and English, ensuring students with attention and learning differences receive both specialized support and college-preparatory instruction in a highly structured maritime environment.

Students benefit from experiential learning through hands-on sailing instruction, study across 15+ international destinations, and close-knit communal living that builds self-knowledge and leadership skills. The intimate scale—with only 7 classroom teachers for 60 students—enables personalized mentoring and allows educators to adapt teaching methods to individual learning styles. The unique setting itself can be therapeutic: the combination of physical activity, clear routines, peer mentorship, and purposeful work supports students who struggle in traditional classroom settings, particularly those managing ADHD or anxiety.

Admission follows a rolling basis with no fixed deadline. Tuition is approximately $65,000 USD annually (57,900 EUR). Students engage in organized clubs, recreational and competitive sailing, and other sports including diving, golf, and soccer, creating multiple pathways for students to find community and build confidence outside academics.
