Accotink Academy

Accotink Academy is a Virginia-certified special education school serving students in grades 1-12 with learning disabilities and ADD/ADHD. With an average class size of just 6 students and a team of 9 certified teachers, the school provides the individualized attention that many students with learning differences need to thrive academically and socially.

The academy goes beyond classroom instruction by maintaining therapeutic support staff on-site, including a clinical psychologist, speech therapist, and occupational therapist. This integrated approach means your child can access evaluation, therapeutic services, and academic support within one setting, reducing the need to coordinate care across multiple providers. The school has served students with diverse learning needs since 1970 and is a member of the Virginia Association of Independent Schools (VAIS).

Accotink Academy uses a rolling admissions process with no set deadline, making it accessible for families mid-year. The school serves grades 1-12 and enrolls approximately 60 students total, maintaining a diverse, co-ed student body. Summer school is also available for continued skill-building during the break.
