Alpine Transition and Employment Center (ATEC)

The Alpine Transition and Employment Center (ATEC) is a special purpose public school operated by the Alpine School District, specifically designed for students with disabilities transitioning into adulthood. Serving individuals up to age 22, ATEC focuses on essential life skills including employment preparation, independent living, and active community participation.

The instructional team consists of specialized special education teachers and classroom aides, supplemented by on-site professional support from a speech-language pathologist and a school nurse. This multidisciplinary approach ensures that students receive the therapeutic and developmental support necessary to meet their individualized goals in a structured environment.

Beyond the classroom, ATEC serves as a vital bridge for families navigating the complexities of the adult service system.
