Ashlar

Ashlar Farm & Forest School in Auburn, WA is a small, intentionally-sized school serving ages 3–10 with explicit support for neurodivergent learners, including those with learning differences and ADD/ADHD. The school's holistic, child-led approach emphasizes whole-child development and creates a low-pressure learning environment where each child can progress at their own pace.

The curriculum is hands-on and play-based, with roughly half of each day spent outdoors on 15 acres of farm and forest. This outdoor-rich, nature-based model provides sensory-rich learning opportunities and movement-based breaks—particularly beneficial for children who need kinesthetic engagement and outdoor time to regulate and thrive. With only 12 students and 2 teachers, the school offers personalized attention and individualized pacing.

Ashlar currently offers half-day, part-time programs (ages 3–10) that are compatible with homeschooling, making it flexible for families managing multiple learning needs.
