New Haven, ConnecticutAccepting Students(203) 624-5189

Small New Haven middle school for grades 7–9 with ADD/ADHD support. Small classes, personalized learning plans, and theatre-based academics

ATLAS is a small, specialized middle school in New Haven, CT serving 7th–9th graders, including students with ADD/ADHD. With classes of just 15–18 students, your child receives individualized attention and works within a stable peer community. Each student has a personal learning plan tailored to their needs, ensuring they receive the academic support and structure that benefits them most.

The school's signature approach combines rigorous academics with hands-on theatre-based learning. Students study math daily in a Math Lab, engage in STEM instruction, and explore humanities through discussion and writing. Every cohort forms a theatre company that produces four full productions, giving students real-world opportunities to develop executive function skills—planning, problem-solving, time management, and self-directed learning—while analyzing texts, building sets, and managing projects from start to finish.

ATLAS enrolled 20 students as of 2018 and maintains a 99% faculty with advanced degrees. Tuition is $26,000 annually, with financial aid available to approximately 50% of students. The admissions process is rolling after January 15. For more information about ADD/ADHD support and whether ATLAS is the right fit, contact Admissions Director Caroline Golschneider at (203) 624-5189 or visit atlasmiddleschool.org.
