Brooklyn Blue Feather Elementary (BBF), operated by AHRC New York City, is an NYS Education Department-approved ABA program for children ages 5 to 12 with autism spectrum disorders. Serving the five boroughs, the school supports classifications including Autism, Multiple Disabilities, Emotional Disability, Learning Disabilities, Intellectual Disabilities, and Other Health Impairments.
The program offers individualized instruction via small class ratios (8:1:1 to 10:1:2) featuring certified behavior trainers, assistants, and one-to-one aides. The curriculum aligns with IEP goals and NYS standards, utilizing evidence-based tools such as the STAR autism curriculum, structured literacy and math, ABA, PECS, AAC devices, assistive technology, and sensory integration.
A multidisciplinary team provides comprehensive care, including BCBAs, RBTs, a school psychologist, social worker, speech-language pathologist, occupational and physical therapists, hearing services, and a registered nurse.
