Rancho Cordova CA deaf school PreK-3 serves young children with hearing loss
CCHAT Center-Sacramento is a state-certified nonpublic special education school dedicated to teaching deaf and hard-of-hearing children to listen and speak. Located in Rancho Cordova, CA, the school serves over 50 children (with 33 currently enrolled) in Prekindergarten through grade 3, offering a co-ed environment where students develop spoken language skills through individualized therapy and a creative, imaginative curriculum.
Students utilize a variety of advanced amplification systems, including hearing aids, cochlear implants, and personal FM systems, to maximize auditory input. The school's focus on auditory/oral communication prepares children with competency in social and academic skills, enabling them to actively participate in their local schools and the broader community.
As one of only three auditory/oral programs serving deaf children in Northern California, CCHAT offers rolling admissions with no deadline. The school is nonsectarian and has been serving the community since 1996.
