Dyslexia Institute of Indiana

The Dyslexia Institute of Indiana provides specialized support for children, adolescents, and adults with specific learning disabilities, including dyslexia, dysgraphia, and dyscalculia. While not a traditional school, the Institute serves as a vital resource alongside a student's regular schooling by offering Orton-Gillingham instruction, comprehensive psycho-educational evaluations, and dedicated advocacy services.

Instruction utilizes the multi-sensory, diagnostic Orton-Gollingham approach, focusing on direct teaching of phonics for reading and spelling, as well as written expression, math, and reading comprehension. Services include one-to-one tutoring available both online and in person for all ages, with 30 sessions per semester during the school year and 12 over the summer. Additionally, their ReadySetREAD program brings this specialized approach directly into schools through small-group tutoring.

The Institute also offers Camp Delafield, an American Camp Association-accredited summer day camp for ages 7 to 12, which balances academic rotations and one-to-one tutoring with engaging activities like STEM, art, and nature walks. Beyond student services, they provide professional training for teachers and parents in the Orton-Gillingham approach and offer comprehensive evaluations through a certified school psychologist.
