Northwest Indiana Special Education Cooperative (NISEC) is dedicated to supporting over 3,400 students with disabilities across seven school districts. The cooperative focuses on providing tailored educational experiences that foster self-worth, independence, and optimal functioning for every child. By working across multiple districts, NISEC ensures a wide reach of specialized resources for students with diverse learning and developmental needs.

The cooperative offers a robust range of specialized therapies and evidence-based programs, including Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) for behavioral support, Orton-Gillingham for language-based learning disabilities, and comprehensive speech and language therapy. To support functional abilities and social development, NISEC provides occupational therapy and social skills groups. The learning environment is inclusive and nurturing, equipped with specialized technology to assist students in reaching their IEP goals.

Beyond the classroom, NISEC emphasizes community integration and long-term success through vocational training and summer programs designed to prepare students for the transition into adulthood. The cooperative also prioritizes family engagement through the Special Education Parent Advisory Council (SEPAC), providing a vital platform for parent advocacy and collaboration.
