Oak Hill School of New York

Oak Hill School of New York is a private therapeutic day school serving students in grades K-8 who face emotional or behavioral challenges that impact their success in traditional school settings. As one of the smallest specialized therapeutic programs in New York State, the school focuses on providing the intensive, individualized attention necessary for each child's personal and academic growth.

The school's highly specialized environment features six classrooms, each maintaining a very low student-to-staff ratio of six students, one teacher, and one teaching assistant. To support emotional regulation and safety, all teachers and assistants are trained in Therapeutic Crisis Intervention for Schools (TCIS). The curriculum is non-traditional and integrates nature, outdoor exploration, art, technology, and physical education to build self-esteem while remaining fully aligned with New York State and Common Core Learning Standards.

Comprehensive therapeutic supports are integrated into the school day, including occupational therapy, physical therapy, speech services, and both individual and group counseling. Set on a nine-acre wooded campus with hiking trails and a pond, the school provides a calming, sensory-friendly environment for learning and play. A six-week summer program is also available to all enrolled students.
