Our Learning Environment

Our Learning Environment is an early childhood center in Island Park, NY, specifically designed to nurture toddlers and preschoolers (ages 17 months to 4 years) with unique learning needs. The center provides specialized support for a diverse range of developmental challenges, including language-based learning disabilities, through a curriculum that blends academic instruction with play-based learning.

Led by Danielle Urrego, a New York State Certified School Psychologist and Special Education Teacher, the school utilizes innovative, sensory-based programs to promote intellectual stimulation. Programs such as the Toddler Transition Class help younger children acclimate to school, while the Clever Caterpillars and Brilliant Butterflies classes focus on language development, social skills, and independence through tailored thematic units.

The center prioritizes a low student-teacher ratio to ensure personalized attention and individualized support for every child. Endorsed by the Eco-Healthy Child Care Council, the facility offers a safe, eco-friendly environment that emphasizes strong family partnerships.
