Rowland Hall Lower School (McCarthey Campus)

Rowland Hall Lower School (McCarthey Campus) is an independent school in Salt Lake City serving students from 3PreK through grade 5. Utilizing a neurodiversity-affirming approach, the school provides learning support to all students, regardless of formal diagnosis. In the Beginning School, specialists work within classrooms to monitor language, sensory, motor skills, and early literacy and math development. In the Lower School, specialists offer whole-group instruction, small-group support, and one-on-one check-ins.

While the school does not write formal IEPs or 504 plans, they facilitate a collaborative process. Upon receipt of outside evaluation reports, the school organizes meetings between teachers, learning specialists, families, and evaluators to draft a personalized support plan outlining strengths, needs, classroom strategies, and accommodations.

2026-2027 tuition ranges from $8,950 for 3PreK half-days to $29,950 for grades 1-5, plus a $2,000 matriculation fee for new families. Significant need-based tuition assistance is available for kindergarten and up; 2025 grants averaged over half of full tuition. The financial aid application deadline is January 31.
