Solterra Academy is a special education school in New Britain, CT serving students ages 4–21 with significant emotional, behavioral, physical, and learning challenges. The school provides intensive, structured intervention through small classes (average 8 students) and a team of 22 specialized educators. Each student receives an integrated package of educational, therapeutic, vocational, social, emotional, and developmental services designed around their individual needs.
The academy's core mission is to build independence across academic, behavioral, social, and emotional domains, preparing students for successful transition back to their home school districts. The highly structured environment is developmentally appropriate and responsive to each child's unique profile. Solterra supports students with learning disabilities, intellectual disabilities, and related learning differences through individualized programming, and the school offers both year-round and summer school options to maintain continuity of care.
