Special Education Transition Academy

The Special Education Transition Academy, part of Harlingen CISD, provides specialized educational programming designed to empower students with diverse learning needs. The academy focuses on creating inclusive environments that prioritize both academic achievement and social development, ensuring students have access to the specific resources necessary to thrive.

The academy offers a robust suite of therapeutic and instructional supports, including Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) for behavioral needs, Orton-Gillingham methodologies for students with dyslexia, and tailored speech and language therapy. To support holistic development, the program includes occupational therapy to build essential life skills, as well as social skills groups to foster peer interaction and communication.
