Spectrum School has served the Rockford area since 1967 as a progressive alternative school specifically designed for students who learn differently. The school specializes in supporting students with dyslexia, sensory processing differences, ADD/ADHD, and other learning differences through personalized, action-oriented instruction tailored to each child's unique learning style and strengths.
With an average class size of just 12 students and 6 classroom teachers, Spectrum provides the individualized attention many students with learning differences need to thrive. The school serves students from prekindergarten through 9th grade in a supportive, co-ed environment that recognizes every child has undiscovered gifts, talents, and potential. Beyond academics, students participate in enrichment activities including coding, arts and music programs, language clubs, and maker spaces that build confidence and engagement.
