The Children's Guild

The Children's Guild is a nonprofit organization dedicated to serving children with emotional and behavioral challenges. Since 1953, they have provided specialized support through special education, group living, treatment foster care, and comprehensive mental health services across Maryland. Their approach focuses on helping students navigate complex emotional landscapes by integrating new, adaptive mindsets with their existing experiences.

The Guild's programs are designed for students who may struggle with behavior disorders or emotional disturbances. Their educational model emphasizes acculturation, teaching children new ways of thinking and behaving while respecting their personal histories. The organization's Day Schools in Annapolis, Baltimore, and Prince George's County are accredited by the National Commission Accrediting Special Education Services, ensuring high standards of specialized care.

All programs are either approved by the Maryland State Department of Education or licensed by the Maryland State Department of Health and Mental Hygiene. With a diverse, co-ed student body, The Children's Guild offers a structured and supportive environment for students in grades 1-11. Admissions are handled on a rolling basis, providing flexibility for families in need of specialized placement.
