The Craig School is an independent, nonprofit school specializing in students with language-based learning differences, including dyslexia, auditory processing disorder, and ADHD. Established in 1980, the school serves bright students in grades 2–12 who are of average or above-average ability but learn differently. The Craig School provides a structured, specialized environment designed to help these students build foundational skills and strategies they need to succeed academically and become independent learners.
With two campuses—a lower school (grades 2–8) in Mountain Lakes and a high school (grades 9–12) in Montville, New Jersey—the school maintains small class sizes (average of 6 students) and employs 44 teachers, 99% of whom hold advanced degrees. This allows for individualized attention and tailored instruction. The college preparatory curriculum is designed specifically for students with language-based learning differences, combining rigorous academics with evidence-based interventions and support strategies. The school also offers summer programs and extracurricular activities including sports and clubs.
Admissions follow a rolling process, with Kate Tartaglia serving as the admissions director. Annual tuition is $45,000. The current enrollment is 152 students.
