The Openshaw Education Center

The Openshaw Education Center, part of the Utah Schools for the Deaf and the Blind (USDB), provides a comprehensive educational experience specifically designed for students who are deaf, hard of hearing, deafblind, blind, or have low vision. The center is dedicated to empowering students to reach their full academic, social, and career potential through responsive and innovative educational practices tailored to sensory impairments.

The school offers a robust suite of specialized services, including Individualized Education Plans (IEPs), speech and language therapy, occupational therapy, and social skills groups. To support students with language-based learning disabilities, USDB utilizes evidence-based methodologies such as the Orton-Gillingham approach and Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA).
