The Timothy School

Established in 1960, The Timothy School is a non-profit special education school specifically designed for children with autism. Serving students from Kindergarten through 12th grade, the school focuses on highly individualized instruction to develop essential academic, communication, and functional life skills. The curriculum is designed to build confidence and motivation, helping students learn to adapt their behavior and interact more effectively with the world around them.

The school utilizes a comprehensive interdisciplinary approach, coordinating therapeutic services such as speech/language, occupational, and physical therapy. These therapies are integrated into both individualized and classroom-based instruction to ensure consistent implementation across all settings. Beyond the classroom, the school emphasizes the application of self-help, behavioral, and social skills to help students participate meaningfully in their homes and communities.

Recognizing that student success extends to the entire family, The Timothy School provides specialized parent training tailored to the unique needs of each family, supporting parents and siblings in participating positively in community activities. The school also fosters community connection through volunteer opportunities for local students and preservice training for university students, creating a supportive, multi-generational learning environment.
