Academic Fun & Fitness Camp

Academic Fun & Fitness Camp is a specialized six-week summer day camp designed specifically for children and teens ages 6 to 19 with learning disabilities, including ADHD, Asperger's, dyslexia, and other LD diagnoses. Operating as an "un-school camp," the program focuses on engaging students through a multi-sensory approach to reading and math, ensuring that academic concepts are accessible and developmentally appropriate.

The camp provides a diverse range of therapeutic and recreational activities to support social skills development and physical well-being. Programs include music and art therapy, theatre arts, hands-on science, martial arts, and non-competitive sports. This variety of programming is designed to foster confidence and social connection in a low-pressure, supportive environment.

Safety and individualized attention are priorities, with a low counselor-to-camper ratio of 5:1. The camp offers the convenience of free before and after care for participating families. While the camp is held on the campus of Lakeland Community College, it is an independent, non-profit program. Located in Kirtland, OH, the camp provides a structured yet fun summer experience for neurodivergent youth.
