Bar T Mountainside

Bar T Mountainside is an ACA-accredited day camp in Urbana, MD, that offers a variety of sensory-rich, adventure-based experiences. The camp provides a structured yet flexible environment where campers can engage in diverse activities such as swimming, archery, and climbing a 50-foot rock wall. By offering campers choices in their daily adventures, the program helps build confidence and autonomy in a supportive outdoor setting.

To ensure a safe and manageable environment, campers are grouped by age and gender into small cohorts of 12–19 participants. Each group is supervised by at least one Senior Counselor (18+) and one Junior Counselor (16+), providing consistent adult presence and mentorship. The camp also works to accommodate requests for placement with friends, helping to ease social transitions and foster a sense of community.

The camp curriculum features weekly special events, such as Camp Olympics or model rocket building, designed to encourage social engagement and skill-building. With nature as a playground, the program focuses on helping campers conquer fears on the ropes course and connect with the natural world through a variety of unique, memorable weekly themes.
