Barry Conservation Camp 4-H

Barry Conservation Camp 4-H (BCC) offers a highly structured and intimate overnight camp experience in the White Mountain National Forest. Operated by the UNH Cooperative Extension 4-H Program, this ACA-accredited camp is ideal for children who thrive in small, close-knit communities. With only 38 campers and 11 staff members, the camp provides a low-sensory, high-support environment where kids can engage in hands-on environmental and conservation learning.

The camp is organized into small cabins, each housing up to seven campers and one counselor, ensuring that every child has consistent adult supervision and mentorship. Campers are grouped by age and gender to foster social connections in a safe, predictable setting. The facility includes central toilets, shower facilities, and a dining hall, providing essential structure and accessibility for campers participating in outdoor activities.

The staff at BCC focuses on helping campers discover their individual strengths through teamwork and nature-based exploration. This small-scale setting is particularly well-suited for children who may benefit from reduced social complexity and a focus on self-awareness and environmental stewardship.
