Camp Akeela in Vermont

Camp Akeela is a 3.5-week, co-ed, overnight sleepaway camp located in the Green Mountains of Vermont, specifically designed for bright, creative boys and girls ages 9–17 who face challenges connecting with peers. The camp specializes in supporting campers with Asperger's Syndrome, non-verbal learning disabilities, and other social skills challenges, providing a small, supportive community where every individual is celebrated.

The program focuses on fostering social growth, personal competence, and lifelong friendships through a well-rounded traditional camp curriculum. Activities include arts, athletics, pool and lakefront aquatics, and outdoor adventures such as ropes courses. To ensure a safe and supportive environment, campers live in cabins with a high staff-to-camper ratio, typically consisting of up to 8 peers and 4 counselors per cabin.
