Camp Birchwood for Boys

Camp Birchwood for Boys offers a highly structured and intimate wilderness experience for boys ages 7-17. Located on the edge of the Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness, the camp intentionally maintains a small enrollment of only 35 to 45 campers per session. This small group size is ideal for boys who benefit from a low-stimulation environment, increased adult supervision, and a focus on meaningful connection and self-discovery.

The camp's program is built around the pillars of Community, Life Skills, Role Models, and Respect for the Wilderness. To support social development and individual interests, campers live in cabins of six boys with two dedicated counselors. Each day, boys choose their own in-camp activities individually rather than as a group, providing a unique opportunity to practice social navigation and build confidence across different age groups in a supervised setting.

As an ACA Accredited camp, Birchwood provides a safe, supervised overnight setting where wilderness adventures serve as a vehicle for personal growth. The small cabin ratios and personalized activity selection make this an excellent option for families seeking a summer program that prioritizes character building, life skills, and mentorship in a predictable, small-scale environment.
