Camp Edward L Kopszywa - ELK

Located in the beautiful Angeles National Forest, Camp Edward L. Kopszywa (ELK) and Camp Coulter Pines provide a traditional overnight resident camp experience for boys and girls ages 7-17. As an ACA-accredited program operated by the YMCA of Orange County, the camp offers a structured and supervised environment where campers can build confidence and social skills through nature-based programming.

The camp features a diverse range of sensory and physical activities designed to engage different interests and abilities. Campers rotate through daily sessions including rock-wall climbing, a team-building challenge course, archery, swimming, and nature hikes. For those who prefer creative or low-impact engagement, options such as arts and crafts, drama/improv, and outdoor cooking are available, alongside evening group gatherings like campfires and dances.

Each traditional week runs from Sunday through Saturday, providing a consistent routine that can help campers navigate transitions. The program focuses on teamwork and personal growth through organized sports like basketball, volleyball, and GaGa Ball, all within the scenic and supportive setting of the San Gabriel Mountains.
