Camp Helping Hands

Camp Helping Hands (CHH) is a co-ed summer day camp in Simi Valley, CA, designed for children ages 6 through 13. The camp uses a service-learning theme to foster social-emotional growth, helping campers develop compassion, leadership, and confidence. Through engaging, inquiry-based lessons and weekly service field trip expeditions, children learn to address real-world problems and take meaningful action within their community.

The camp provides a structured and supportive environment by grouping campers into four age-specific cohorts: Junior Helpers (6-7), Young Advocates (8-9), Super Agents (10-11), and Chief Aides (12-13). Each group is limited to 15–17 campers and is led by three dedicated counselors, ensuring a high level of supervision and personalized guidance. Activities include sports, swimming, arts and crafts, music, and games, all centered around the mission of making a difference.

For older youth, the Chief Aides group serves as a Counselor-in-Training (CIT) program, where 12- to 13-year-olds (and incoming high school freshmen) assist counselors and administration. This structured progression allows for skill-building in a safe, supervised setting.
