Camp Highlander

Camp Highlander provides a nurturing, structured summer camp experience for boys and girls ages 5-16 in the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains of North Carolina. The camp utilizes a cabin unit philosophy, where small groups of up to ten campers travel with at least two counselors as a singular unit. This consistent social structure is designed to foster deep-rooted friendships, social development, and a sense of belonging through shared meals and group activities.

The program offers a balance of structured routine and personal autonomy, which can be particularly beneficial for children navigating social or emotional transitions. While the cabin unit provides a stable foundation, campers also benefit from 'Camper Choice' days and the flexibility to chart their own courses. With over 40 activities available—including kayaking, archery, rock climbing, and whitewater rafting—the camp provides diverse sensory and physical engagement opportunities in a 240-acre wilderness setting.

Camp Highlander is an ACA-accredited facility offering overnight sessions ranging from one to seven weeks, as well as special family camp weekends.
