Camp Hope

Camp Hope, offered by Kans for Kids, is a free overnight summer camp specifically designed for children ages 5 to 17 who are navigating a cancer diagnosis. The program provides a vital space for children in treatment or remission to step away from medical routines and simply experience being a kid again through traditional summer camp activities.

Safety and specialized care are the highest priorities at Camp Hope. The camp is staffed by a 24-hour on-site medical team, which typically includes physicians, nurses, a pharmacist, and a mental health specialist to support the physical and emotional needs of the campers. This professional oversight ensures that children with complex medical needs can participate safely in a fun, recreational environment.

Beyond medical support, Camp Hope fosters a sense of community and peer connection, helping children realize they are not alone in their journey. Accredited by the American Camp Association, the camp takes place during the third week of June at Camp Aldrich near Claflin, Kansas. This specialized program offers a supportive, therapeutic environment for both the campers and their families.
