Camp Nejeda

Camp Nejeda provides a unique, empowering environment specifically designed for children and youth living with diabetes. Operating since 1958, the camp offers a space where diabetes is the norm, removing the need for campers to explain blood sugar testing, insulin injections, or carb counting. This specialized setting allows children to focus on being kids while participating in a community that inherently understands the complexities of managing Type 1 diabetes.

The camp's programming combines recreational fun with both formal and informal educational opportunities to promote healthy, active living and effective diabetes management. Beyond traditional overnight and day camps, Camp Nejeda offers Family Camps and other extended programs throughout the year. These programs are designed to provide fellowship and education for individuals with Type 1 diabetes of all ages, as well as their families.

As an ACA-accredited facility and a member of the Diabetes Education & Camping Association, Camp Nejeda is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. Whether attending a week-long overnight session or a family-focused program, participants benefit from a supportive, knowledgeable community dedicated to empowering those navigating life with diabetes.
