Camp Northwoods

Camp Northwoods provides an engaging day camp program for children in grades 1-6, focusing on a variety of activities that challenge the imagination, intellect, and body. Utilizing the extensive resources of the Skidmore College campus, the camp offers a diverse range of enrichment opportunities including nature study, sports, and cultural arts. The program is designed to foster growth through structured play and exploration in a safe, supervised environment.

Campers participate in daily activities such as arts and crafts, ceramics, hiking, and daily swim time. The curriculum is enriched by access to specialized facilities like the Schick Art Gallery, the Tang Teaching Museum, and the Zankel Music Center. These varied settings allow children to engage with different learning modalities, from tactile arts to physical movement and nature-based learning.

Led by qualified staff, the camp's daily schedule is supplemented by weekly field trips to local recreational and historical sites and visits from special guests. This well-rounded approach provides children with opportunities for social interaction and community engagement outside of the traditional classroom setting.
