Camp O'Bannon

Camp Buckskin is an overnight summer camp located in Isabella, MN that has been dedicated to serving boys and girls ages 6-18 who are experiencing academic and/or social skill difficulties since 1959. Specifically designed for children with AD/HD, Learning Disabilities, Aspergers, or similar needs, the camp focuses on providing a supportive and nurturing environment for campers with average to well above average intelligence.

The program at Camp Buckskin not only focuses on traditional camp activities but also incorporates academic elements to help campers stay focused and gain knowledge and skills, leading to a smoother transition to the new school year. The camp's Personal Growth program is designed to help campers work on social skill goals selected by their parents, with teachable moments occurring throughout the day to help improve peer relations, communication skills, problem-solving abilities, and related skills. Campers' progress is recorded and shared with parents, along with insights and observations to help continue the progress made at camp.

Recognized by the American Camp Association, Camp Buckskin has helped over 8,000 children experience personal growth and improvement. The camp's holistic approach not only focuses on academic and social development but also aims to strengthen the self-concept of campers, ultimately helping them become happier and more successful.
