Camp Walden

Camp Walden is an ACA-accredited overnight camp in Denmark, ME, that focuses on building character and social-emotional skills through a structured Honor System. Grounded in values of honesty, respect, trust, consideration, and cooperation, the camp provides a supportive environment where campers learn to navigate social dynamics and develop a strong sense of self and integrity.

The daily program is designed to foster competence and independence through a variety of structured activities. Each day, campers participate in five different activities, ensuring a well-rounded experience. The curriculum includes an extensive trip program, team sports, and special events like 'color war,' all designed to encourage cooperation and new experiences in a safe, supervised setting.

Led by Director Kathy Jonas, Camp Walden emphasizes the development of lifelong friendships and personal growth. The camp's emphasis on a shared value system makes it a meaningful space for campers to build social competence and resilience through cherished traditions and community-based learning.
