Camp Waldo

Camp Waldo is a three-week overnight camp located on the banks of the Greenbrier River near Hinton, West Virginia. The camp provides a beautiful, supportive setting designed to connect children with nature through outdoor learning and exploration. The program focuses on building self-reliance and environmental responsibility through hands-on engagement with the natural world.

The camp experience combines adventure, sports, and creative arts, offering a variety of activities that encourage personal growth and social connection. By integrating outdoor exploration with structured activities, Camp Waldo helps campers develop confidence and independence in a safe, supervised environment.

As a program of Appalachian Headwaters, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, Camp Waldo is part of a larger mission to restore forests, water, and communities in central Appalachia.
