Camp Wasiu II

Camp Wasiu II is a beautiful, high-mountain overnight camp located in the Tahoe National Forest near Sierra City, California, serving all girls in grades 1-12. As a Girl Scouts of the USA affiliate, the camp provides a structured and supportive environment where campers can build confidence through a wide variety of outdoor activities, including archery, swimming, canoeing, hiking, and teambuilding.

The camp is designed to foster independence and social connection within a safe, supervised setting. Campers live in platform tents in units of 8-24 girls, supported by a 2-4 staff ratio to ensure attentive care. Facilities include a swimming pool, a large dining and recreation hall, a health building, and bathroom buildings equipped with flushing toilets and hot showers, providing essential comforts in a wilderness setting.

Set on a 45-acre property with access to the Pacific Crest Trail and nearly 100 nearby lakes, the camp offers a sensory-rich environment for nature exploration, from night science to stargazing. The diverse, international staff brings a wealth of experience to help guide campers through new challenges and outdoor adventures.
