Camp Winaca HemoVon

Camp Winaca HemoVon is a specialized residential overnight camp designed for children ages 7-16 diagnosed with childhood cancer or bleeding disorders. Operated by the WVU Department of Pediatrics, the camp provides a medically safe and educationally supportive environment where campers can experience the joys of summer camp independently from their families.

The program focuses on fostering personal growth, self-worth, and self-reliance through a variety of creative activities. By providing a space where children can build lasting personal relationships, the camp helps campers develop social skills and confidence that carry over into their daily lives and long-term well-being.

As an ACA Accredited camp, Winaca HemoVon prioritizes safety and quality programming for its participants. The camp's mission is to enrich the lives of children facing medical challenges by promoting creativity and independence in a community that understands their unique needs.
