Cleveland Sight Center Highbrook Lodge

Highbrook Lodge offers a specialized summer camp experience specifically designed for individuals who are blind, have low vision, or are deaf-blind. As the first camp ever built for individuals with vision loss, Highbrook Lodge utilizes a natural environment to promote independence, self-sufficiency, and social growth. The camp also welcomes campers with additional disabilities alongside their vision loss, providing a safe and inclusive space for all.

The program utilizes strengths-based therapeutic recreation to assist campers in their vision rehabilitation process through adapted traditional camp activities. To ensure safety and accessibility, the facility is equipped with accessible facilities, guide wires, and comfortable sleeping arrangements. The camp is accredited by the American Camp Association and maintains a licensed medical professional on-site at all times to support the health and well-being of all participants.

Highbrook Lodge serves a wide range of ages and needs, offering residential sessions for youth (ages 7–21) and adults (ages 21–99), as well as weekend sessions for young children (ages 0–10) and their families. Beyond summer sessions, the lodge hosts day trips and seasonal weekend camps in the fall and winter. All campers are provided with well-balanced, nutritious meals in a supportive, unplugged environment.
