Constraint Induced Movement Therapy Camp (at Morrison Center)

The Morrison Center's Constraint Induced Movement Therapy (CIMT) Camp in Scarborough, Maine, offers an evidence-based intervention for children ages 3 to 12. The program uses a removable constraint on the less affected arm to promote repetitive, functional use of the affected arm through play-based tasks. Goals include improving arm function, enhancing bilateral hand coordination, and increasing independence in daily living, play, and academic activities.

This day camp features three-week sessions with themed activities, gross motor games, and themed snacks. The group setting provides social benefits, allowing campers to interact with peers facing similar challenges. To ensure safety and progress, the camp maintains a 1:1 staff ratio, providing personalized attention and necessary adaptations. Costs are up to $900 per week.
