FCYD Camp UTADA provides specialized summer programming for children and youth living with diabetes. Established in 1962 by leaders in diabetes care and camping, the camp offers a variety of options including 4-5 weeks of summer overnight camps, 5-6 day day camps, and dedicated teen leadership weeks. The program is designed to foster independence and community among campers managing chronic health needs.
Safety and health are central to the camp experience, with all programs featuring professional medical supervision. The camp focuses on integrating diabetes education with traditional outdoor activities, ensuring that campers can participate fully in camp life while learning essential self-management skills. The staff is trained to support the specific medical requirements of youth with diabetes in a supervised, ACA-accredited environment.
In addition to summer sessions, the camp offers family days, family weekends, and two winter weekend programs. These opportunities allow families to connect with others navigating similar health journeys. Managed by the Foundation for Children and Youth with Diabetes, the camp provides a supportive setting for both education and recreation.
