Fun in the Sun

Fun in the Sun is a 6-week summer learning program in Santa Barbara, CA, specifically designed to support academically and financially at-risk children and families. The program focuses on bridging the achievement gap through hands-on, project-based lessons that address summer learning loss. By utilizing a collaborative model with over 70 local organizations, the program provides a highly structured and enriched environment for students who benefit from extra academic and social support.

The program offers a wide range of specialized services and therapeutic-style enrichment, including adult mentorship, character education, and self-esteem building activities. Students participate in STEAM education, arts expression, and daily reading and writing sessions, alongside physical activities like swim lessons and team-building. To support the holistic needs of the child, the program also provides free health services, daily nutrition, and health education.
