Gales Creek Camp

Gales Creek Camp provides a specialized summer camp experience for children and teenagers living with Type 1 diabetes. The camp focuses on fostering independence and confidence, helping campers learn to manage their health through practical skills like testing blood glucose and administering injections. By connecting with peers facing similar challenges, campers realize they are not alone in their journey.

The program emphasizes the vital link between nutrition, exercise, and insulin management, teaching campers how factors like sports, illness, and stress impact their diabetes. Staff members, many of whom also live with diabetes, serve as relatable role models, demonstrating how to navigate life with a diagnosis and modeling healthy, active habits in a supportive environment.

As an ACA accredited camp offering both overnight and day programs, Gales Creek Camp is dedicated to showing that a diabetes diagnosis does not limit a child's ability to lead a fulfilling, active life.
