Georgia Firefighters Burn Foundation

The Georgia Firefighters Burn Foundation provides free specialized summer camps for children and young adults (ages 7-17) who have sustained burn injuries requiring treatment or hospitalization in a Burn Center. This program is open to all Georgia residents, as well as non-residents who received treatment at a Georgia Burn Center, ensuring that survivors can access this vital community of support.

In partnership with Camp Twin Lakes, these camps take place at the Will-A-Way and Rutledge facilities, which offer year-round recreational, therapeutic, and educational programs for youth facing serious medical challenges. The camp environment is designed to be inclusive and supportive, focusing on the unique needs of burn survivors through specialized programming and peer connection.

The camp experience is led by a dedicated team of volunteers, including fire service professionals, burn survivors, and allied health experts. This unique staff composition provides campers with relatable role models and specialized care. The program also offers family camp opportunities, allowing families to participate in the supportive camp community together.
